The Artman Project provides workshops in DJing, music production, MCing and beat boxing for beginners and aspiring professionals alike.
DJing
Learn about traditional decks and the latest in media technology including Serrato, CDJing and Traktor Scratch. You'll look at basic safety, best practice in handling and be introduced to what your equipment can do, choosing your favourite tracks, putting together a set, understanding different rhythms and creating your own mix.
MCing
We will enable you to be a more rounded vocalist and lyricist. We'll look at structuring songs, hooks and chorus, learning about the art of the eight and sixteen bar, beat counts and drops, playing with rhythm, melody and dynamics, writing lyrics, finding your flow and working with mics.
Self promotion for aspiring artists
We will look at promotion using the online technologies MySpace, Youtube, Facebook and Bebo; putting together a presspack; what the difference is between an agent and management, how to get your music played by DJs and on the radio, and making people aware of you in the industry.
Music production
We prioritise making participants as musically aware as possible within the production process. We'll take you through creating a track, putting together a beat, arranging and mixing down their music at the end of the production process.
We will cover all modern music styles such as drum and bass, grime, bass line house, breakbeat and more.
We can offer tuition in "Ableton Live", "Reason", "Logic" and "Cubase".
Beat boxing
Be a multi-instrumentalist with your mouth! Participants will learn about vocal projection, how to speak into a mic, stage presence and how to work with a multitude of different styles. This workshop can be for individuals and groups.
Instrumental tuition
The Artman Project also offers tuition for guitar, bass, piano and drumming.

The Artman Project organises "Performance workshops" with named artists coming exclusively to your premises.
